- Kolerus & Djordjevic - Bjarke Kolerus and Branko Djordjevic met at the ”Carl Nielsen Academy of Music”, where they both graduated – Bjarke on Folk Music- and Branko on MusicPerformer department. They started playing together in 2001 and have performed on all kinds of folkmusic arrangements and festivals in Denmark and abroad since, among them the Klezmer Music Festival in Copenhagen, Neckersulm, etc. The duets repertoire consists of Jewish and Balkan folkmusic, which, played on these instruments, gets a varm, traditional sound. But what characterizes Kolerus and Djordjevic the most though, are their own arrangements of the pieces, which are beeing performed with a great mutual understanding and elegance. Furthermore the combination of the Serbian born and classical trained virtuoso Djordjevic and the passionated vivid klezmer sound of Kolerus gives a tension and an extra dimension to their music. With this in mind, one can say that a completely new way of playing this fiery folkmusic has arised, a stile they themselves have called “Chamber Klezmer”. From a long time of trying to find a new sound by means of experiments through merger of the traditional and contemporary, a collaboration arose between these two musicians and a fascinating jewish singer, Channe Nussbaum.
